A hunter pace is a low-key competitive event derived from foxhunting. Teams of two to three riders follow a marked outdoor course laid out over natural terrian.  It is up to each team to guess at what the organizers of the pace have decided is an ideal time to complete the course. The ideal time is determined by a test rider that rides the course before the event. On the day of the event, the team which completes the course in a time closest to the ideal places first.
There maybe jumps found along the course, taking them is always optional. While there is a competitive aspect to the hunter pace, most riders simply regard it as an enjoyable way to spend a day in the countryside.
Variations on the hunter pace include the poker run (there are 5 stops on course were each team recieves a card, the team with the best poker hand at the end of the course wins) and the dice run (at the stops along the course teams roll dice. The highest score as determined by the sum of the dice rolls at the end of the course).

These events are not discipline oriented and riders in both english and western equipment are welcome to attend. There will be two different divisions offered: one for riders looking to ride at a faster pace and one for riders taking a more leisurely approach. Preregistration is greatly appreciated but entries will be accepted day of.
